You’d think that almost not making it to the vet on Friday from the burnout and fatigue nearly dropping me two blocks away would not mean that waiting for and then enduring a phone conversation today would throw out my back, have me sobbing, and almost send me to bed at 4pm but you’d be wrong.

As someone who grew up around a brand of evangelical toxic paternalism I must say, controlling men feel threatened when they see people living free. It asks them to challenge their stereotypes about masculinity in a way that is very uncomfortable—they learn how weak their version of a man really is.

Took my frustrated autistic burnout recovery that isn’t and went methodically through the SSI application in advance of whenever the lawyer schedules an application call with SSA for me and now I’m orbiting a potential sobbing fit so that’s how things continue to go over here.

grateful portland has risen to the challenge so far in peacefully protesting the ICE facility and that nationally we're all cheering on the frogs but I think it's important to make sure everyone is aware that the ICE goons aren't exactly being peaceful in return

Increasingly in government settings, "psychological safety" is actually a major workplace safety concern. Public facing public workers take a lot of abuse and it's having significant detrimental effects on govt effectiveness and the public service workforce.

It's so hard to watch n'hood residents treat city/agency staff like garbage at meetings just because they disagree w a street design proposal. We need mediators or some staff who enforce basic, respectful meeting laws. I'm tired of staff being talked over and disrespected. It's not OK!
