This is what we have to do. Set up a 1-800 number that every person can memorize. If they get detained, they call that number and leave voicemail with their name, location, other identifying info and their A#, then we publish that info in central location online so family members can get that info.

It would have taken an Edward Snowden level of file release to get all of the Epstein Files and Videos.
By now it's probably too late, they have been destroyed.... except for one place. I'd bet that trump has personal copies of any videos that turned him on.

Section 230 needs updating. The "interactive computer service" chooses which posted content to bury and which one to repeatedly promote.

I wonder how far back into the past this thread has been repeated. It seems every 20 years we rediscover this and it is depressing that we can't get over the hump. We can't even get to a meritocracy let alone get to the point where we can discuss "The Tyranny of Merit".
Some thoughts on academic meritocracy--an issue rightly raised for renewed discussion. The narrative of those who wanted Gay removed as Harvard president--largely echoed in coverage NYT &c + even many who defended her--holds that "merit" prevailed prior to recent diversification of the academy +
