The Insurrection act will be invoked in the U.S. somewhere between July 2025 and July 2026 depending on the opportunity/excuse.
I've got a spice drawer with enough containers for 42 spices and I'm thinking about refreshing it.

What 42 spices would you include?

🚨 The DOJ appears to have redacted Donald Trump’s name from the allegations made in this exhibit in the Epstein files.

Trump’s name was in the original release. Now, it’s blacked out.

See for yourself.

Will this affect gps time? Is the standard time system redundant enough for this to have few effects?
The atomic ensemble time scale at the NIST Boulder campus has failed.

Wow. Is this true? This is horrible
The White House has been caught.

The administration inserted a photo of Bill Clinton, Michael Jackson, and Diana Ross into the Epstein files and falsely implied it showed them with victims.

In reality, it’s a publicly available fundraiser photo featuring Jackson and Ross’s own children.

I've often heard that Alex Acosta was told to back off of Epstein because he was important to the CIA. But what I've never heard is:

_Who_ told him to back off?

Great article
The complete story of how KGB has the Epstein files, why Silicon Valley is so pro-Russian and why Democrats did not do anything about it.
It started with Robert Maxwell, then Epstein, now Trump. Sex-trafficking, blackmailing, financial fraud on a big scale

This is a great idea.
1. Make the 1800 easy like 1 800 ICE HELP
2. get the detention center to tell all detainees this number. Get congressional help for this.
This is what we have to do. Set up a 1-800 number that every person can memorize. If they get detained, they call that number and leave voicemail with their name, location, other identifying info and their A#, then we publish that info in central location online so family members can get that info.

It would have taken an Edward Snowden level of file release to get all of the Epstein Files and Videos.

By now it's probably too late, they have been destroyed.... except for one place. I'd bet that trump has personal copies of any videos that turned him on.

Question for my American friends/followers. Is there a U.S. federal employee whose responsibilities include removing graffiti from federal buildings?

If a book publisher uses an "interactive computer system" for authors to submit manuscripts, does that make it protected by section 230?

Seriously. Just accept submissions from the internet and only publish a few as books.
December 19, 2025 at 12:59 PM
Section 230 needs updating. The "interactive computer service" chooses which posted content to bury and which one to repeatedly promote.

Section 230 should only apply to interactive computer services without "algorithmic publishing".
Reminding everyone for no particular reason that Section 230 is one of the last things standing between free speech online and Trump having control over everything you see and say on the internet

I wonder how far back into the past this thread has been repeated. It seems every 20 years we rediscover this and it is depressing that we can't get over the hump. We can't even get to a meritocracy let alone get to the point where we can discuss "The Tyranny of Merit".
Some thoughts on academic meritocracy--an issue rightly raised for renewed discussion. The narrative of those who wanted Gay removed as Harvard president--largely echoed in coverage NYT &c + even many who defended her--holds that "merit" prevailed prior to recent diversification of the academy +

Fantastic observation. To quote David Tennant, #FuckOffAndLetPeopleBe
Just want to point out how funny/sad it is that the same people who will refuse to refer to a trans woman as "she" have no problem calling ChatGPT "she."

How did this interview get initiated? Why was it chosen for publication?

Is this an attempt to soften the conservative image because Poilivre can't? Is it an attempt by Jivani to establish himself as a potential leader? Both?

'I really do believe I could help,' says Conservative MP Jivani on restarting U.S. trade talks | CBC News

Facebook is evil
In 2018, Meta decided “clean energy” and “climate change” were politically sensitive topics, and demanded that I - a climate scientist - register as a political org to post and boost posts on them.

I refused, and my page has been shadow banned since then. For 7 years. Until this week, that is 😳
