To be honest, it took me a ton of iteration and a lot of time to come to the new version. This wasn't as simple as just redrawing it but took probably dozens of attempts.

Update to the "Godot 💙" feed:

The feed now ignores the word "godot" on its own. To ensure your #gamedev post shows up, please use #godot as a hashtag or add another clue word such as "godot engine", "godot game" etc.

I am still mindblown that #cave is still visited daily by dozens of people on bitbrain.itch.io/cave although this version is more than 3 years old.

Still gotta get FMOD for web working somehow to update the build.

The owner of the feed updated the rules because there is too much spam about the waiting for godot theatre play.

So combine it with things like godotengine + gamedev

When I started #cave, I went for a super minimal + small pixelart style because I can iterate on art so much faster.

One challenge I faced is that on such a small scale, animating is very difficult. This is why I am experimenting with subpixel animations like here:

Hey @github.com can we get a search bar for commits? I'd love to find ancient commits I know those messages contain certain keywords that I wanna see.

I can do this via command line easily but having this in the browser would be dope.

I want to love it but somehow it feels more like a "spreadsheet simulator" compared to e.g. HOMM 3. I am also playing HOMM 3 still actively and it is extremely clean and easy to understand.

I have to play Olden Era a bit more.

I played the demo of Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era.

I am not quite sure yet what to think. On one hand, it is a very pretty game and it feels so good to gather things in the world. Levelling up your hero feels impactful and amazing. Itemization is great. However, it feels extremely cluttered

It's spooky season, and my computer tried to scare me.

Finished INDIKA. A nun doubting her fate, she embarks on a surreal journey looking for redemption. Heavy religious topics are profoundly discussed in the process. Can't say more than the sharp metacommentary at the core of the experience. And what's best, it is less than 4 hours long. Play it.
