Uncontrolled legal migrant. It is a serious thing just to be alive on this fresh morning in the broken world.

Last Saturday, someone asked me about my egg #ZenPoaching technique and I forgot to reply. So, here it is - as 2 videos because stoopid BlueSky has 60 second limit...

I can't believe someone called Daniel Waitrose doesn't work for Waitrose's. He seems so genuine.

PSA: Can I advise NOT singing 'Wicked Game' unless you are, in fact, Chris Isaak. On behalf of the terrible Spotify covers playlist going on in my office right now.

I'm sure young people must struggle with choosing a PIN, whereas I have at least 5 childhood phone numbers to use.

If anyone needs me I will be in the museum, lying down next to the bog bodies.
Did people really memorize phone numbers before cell phones, or is that just a movie thing?
2? Questions
I was watching some old shows from the 90s and noticed people would just dial numbers from memory - like they'd call their friends or family without looking anything up.
Made me wonder if that was actually normal back then? Did people genuinely have all their important numbers memorized, or did most folks keep a little address book or written list nearby?

I appreciate this is about rugby league but my initial thoughts were in the cricketing sense and that AI had had a thromboembolism

So, The Old Oak - pretty classic Ken Loach, with all that entails, good and bad. The one thing I didn't buy was a movie set in the declining pit villages of County Durham, about tensions between impoverished locals and immigrant Syrians, SET IN 2016.... and no one even mentions Brexit.

The problem with Mastodon is that it makes you feel stupid for not knowing how it works.
That was the real hurdle Facebook and everything that came after cleared, you could just join, it didn't take any debugging or jargon. It just, worked. For a while.

David Simon, creator of ‘The Wire’, being interviewed by Ari Shapiro (NPR)
SHAPIRO: OK, so you've spent your career creating television without Al, and I could imagine today you thinking, boy, I wish I had had that tool to solve those thorny problems...
SIMON: What?
SHAPIRO: ...Or saying...
SIMON: You imagine that?
SHAPIRO: ...Boy, if that had existed, it would have screwed me over.
SIMON: I don't think Al can remotely challenge what writers do at a fundamentally creative level.
SHAPIRO: But if you're trying to transition from scene five to scene six, and you're stuck with that transition, you could imagine plugging that portion of the script into an Al and say, give me 10 ideas for how to transition this.
SIMON: I'd rather put a gun in my mouth.
