Enormous puffballs after (at last) a little rain in Maine. So far a beautiful pasta with puff parmigiana, a cream of moon soup, and a lot of reverence for these resonant beings. Any more ideas for meals? 🌱 #fungi

Oh! I appreciate your concern. But never fear. They are not uprooted but trimmed and tied in bundles. The actual plants are still happily rooted in the herb garden. Some are hardy enough to survive the Maine winter. I couple have been with me for decades!

That allows the plants’ flavorful oils to run from stalks into leaves. Or anyway, that’s what my mother always said. One of those traditional methods that also works! 🌱
