Over 60 cyclists pass on this side of the street in under 30 seconds. And their flow only stops because the traffic light turned red.

An efficiency impossible to match if these people were driving.

“CDC is over. It was killed. This administration only knows how to break things. They have made America at risk for outbreaks and attacks by nefarious players. People should be scared,” said Dr. Demetre Daskalakis, former director of the CDC’s National Center on Immunization and Respiratory Diseases
"CDC is over": RFK Jr. lays off over 1,000 employees in Friday night massacre
Amid the ongoing shutdown, the HHS secretary wiped out entire offices that investigate disease outbreaks, manage infectious disease responses and collect data.

Cutting down on the junk in the air and on you helps! You might have had 0 good days without it.
When my oldest was 2, masks were still mandatory. They didn’t mask for meals and nap, and 2 year olds are obviously not all great at masking. But it was so much better than the next year with no masks!

I was thinking “wait was that character Picard always played?? That was a real movie?!?“ and then remembered that was Dixon Hill, not Dick Tracy.

Honestly getting rest when you can and leaning on your social network is probably the best you can do to get through it. Even just asking people to drop off soup for you is something that most people would be happy to do for you, even if it feels weird or bad to ask.

Hahahahahahahahahahaahhhhhhhhhh

It does get better, but not quickly.

A drunk teen once crashed his bike in my yard, I am so thankful that he didn’t drive into my daughter’s room.

There were some teens doing wheelies in the road outside a high school (endangering themselves only). I’ll take that over teens revving the engine or speeding in a lifted pick up that daddy bought them (endangering all people around them) any day.

Every time someone tells you about how someone does something dumb in a bike, shudder and say “at least they were on a bike, imagine what they’d do in a car!”

Feds shot a member of the press, John Rudoff, in the arm with a pepper ball. My ears are still ringing.

And start calling the other side pro fascist!

I think we really should stop using antifa and just fully say anti-fascist and get them saying they are against anti fascism. Using antifa is giving them some distance and I genuinely think some of their base don’t even know that’s what it stands for.

I have heard that a few times with this all-black version!

😩

There are those ones that are made of metal and can be manually removed for maintenance, but that doesn’t help in the emergency case.

I don’t love them because it make turns tricky, but your amazing infrastructure needs some bollards!

Gosh how’d that asphalt get so beaten up?
jdavey.bsky.social
Spring is in the air! Which means it's time for CAA, local media and politicians to all partake in their annual ritual of griping about #HamOnt brutal potholes, while ignoring the cost and the question, what makes the asphalt so pristine, where no cars go? 🤔 🚴‍♂️

PSA: People on bikes aren’t swerving to annoy drivers, they’re just trying not to die or destroy their mode of transportation.
This is generally what the bike portion looks like of our “shared” roads. Glorious.

Honestly, he might be responsible for the most deaths if infectious diseases get out of control. He’s already responsible for making it harder to get Covid vaccines and dismisses the importance of MMR and other life saving vaccines.

Missed the 5000-mile photo, but 5005 still feels like a milestone.
That’s 5005 miles since I got the bike back in January 2023.
It might not sound like much over 33 months compared to driving, but it covers nearly all my city trips, about 5 miles a day, even though I work from home 99% of the time.
