Survival is dependent on learning how to be a skilled economic and political player and understanding and knowing how to use technology and knowing how to see a conman coming from a mile away and blind luck.

We've got no control over anything, especially blind luck.

IQ is dropping as AI rises.

Simple Economic Indicators

What's the amount of interest you're earning on your savings account?

How much do you save each month?

How much debt do you have?

Finally, are you living out of your car?

Kathy and I have each progressed from children to adults to partners to seniors to responsible children. It's like skiing and suddenly reversing course and skiing up the mountain.
We're best friends living together. We're our own parents - we don't rely on anyone to set up play dates or sleep overs.

Animals have always been property. The same is true for children. The same was true for women.
Workers went from slaves and vassals to employees.
Women and workers are reverting to their former status.

Kafka understood our political/economic system over 100 years ago without ever coming to Amerika.

I had a long talk with a very old friend - actually a talk that extended over 2 days. He initiated the call, and he took responsibility for what we discussed. We covered over 60 years. He's 83 and I'll soon be 80. He's been married almost 60 years.
He casually concluded, "I'm waiting to die".

We watched "What Maisie Knew" last night. It was quiet horror - ever so subtle horror? Everything about this movie was excellent. Onata Aprile, Joanna Vanderham and Alexander Skarsgård were beautiful. The filming was stunning.

Family Court from social worker's perspective

When someone or some group rejects you, move on.

I've never understood why people have a problem with this. Party crashing accomplishes nothing.

Shine on your own and the people who accept you will accept you for yourself - not for your conformity.

Ralp Nader, Ross Perot, and Teddy Roosevelt all fronted an independent presidential campaign. They clearly took exception to both political parties and offered alternatives.
Bernie never did this. He wanted to overthrow the Democratic Party.
Why?
Think about it. It's a question worth asking.

Kathy and I watched "In The Land Of Women" last night. It was great -everything/everyone was great.

A lot of reviewers took exception to this movie. I assume they would be equally unhappy with "Love Actually" and "It's A Wonderful Life" and even "The Best Years Of Our Lives".

Fuk the critics.

If you don't think we're in the Upside Down, why is it I suddenly find myself in agreement with MTG and Rand Paul?

I agree. Power in the US has always been with the SC whether by design or evolvement. That is becoming more obvious every day. I know many still believe in the Constitution without realizing it only means what SCOTUS says it means. They are free to interpret it any way the wish, with no questions.

Who knew?

I've started going through and re-publishing some of my early posts on the Church of the Holy Moly blog I used to post on. It's getting me back in touch with my writings and apparently people are reading them when I republish them.

I'm so fukin tired of the pop up that appears every time I start a post on Bluesky. I'll be typing only to find out none of it was entered because of that fukin popup.

I watched "Respect" on Netflix yesterday. I thoroughly enjoyed the movie. The acting was exceptional, the singing was a joy, and the reality was one of survival against all odds.

Donald Trump: 'I Could ... Shoot Somebody, And I Wouldn't Lose Any Voters'
The GOP presidential candidate cracked the joke at a campaign stop in Iowa on Saturday. Less than two weeks from the state's caucus, Trump had been remarking on his supporters' loyalty.

We've never had a democracy. We were a country born in blood.
First there was the extermination of the indigenous peoples who populated the Americas.
Then came the formation of a country where slavery was legal and women and those without property were human chattel.
Stupidity and corruption ...
What’s happening in the USA is a result of a judicial COUP. Over DECADES, Supreme Corruption rulings incrementally dismantled our democracy. A MAJOR step was the 2010 Citizens United decision which allows corporations & foreign lobbies to BUY OFF candidates & elections. This is NOT democracy.

People supporting Trump and the GOP is the equivalent of pigs flying.
Anything is possible now. I fear there's no turning back from this debacle.
Merrick Garland and SCOTUS deserve special attention for their monumental failures.
Justice has always been just an illusion - the worst money can buy.

Too good to be true ...
Apparently one of the most hopeful signs that our press was finally confronting the prevailing evil never happened. I should've known better.

Finally. Why was it left up to her to "resign"?
Federal judge ruled she was serving "without lawful authority" & disqualified her.
Appeals court unanimously upheld decision last week.
Yet she remained in the position, w/Bondi naming her a "Special Attorney to the AG".

No one should feel safe in Trump's United States.

We're currently ruled by whim and the failure of the Legislative and Judicial branches.

Trump's whim is greatly influenced by donations/bribes and flattery.

Most of Trump's appointees are unfit for public office. They're merely sycophants.
FIFA & the Kennedy Center will not distract from Trump killing the economy & returning the U.S. to hateful Jim Crow days. As a white Jew, I do not feel welcome in Trump's U.S. even though my ancestors came here 150 years ago but I will fight to protect all peoples' rights.

Our national laws can only be changed by legislative action. They should not change depending upon what party wins an election other than by legislative action.

Policy isn't law. Policy is often inconsistent with law.

Our country can be thrown into chaos by SCOTUS.

Banking Facts

1. The staff at most bank either on-line or brick and mortar don't understand how FDIC insures. Sadly, they will invariably give you wrong information when asked.

2. FDIC insure by "Ownership Category".

3. Bank personnel have no idea what "Ownership Category" is.
