I remember it from the late 1970s; it was really elegant
former college teacher here: constant tweaking is a harmful teaching practice for all students but especially harmful for a lot of students with ADA accommodations.
I couldn't add alt text after the fact so I posted the image a second time, but with alt text included
this second post of the same image includes alt text!
sure - I'll try to do it now; I'm not used to people actually seeing the photos I post
I don't know their name! Just a young person I saw at the DC rally who was happy to be photographed with their sign.

I scrolled through the @1stforall.bsky.social's gallery of print front pages for local coverage of "No Kings" protests. Here are some of the standout papers, starting with the Daily Sentinel of Grand Junction, Colorado:

Goood morning from the Dirksen Federal Courthouse in Chicago. It's another busy day in court as cases stemming from "Operation Midway Blitz" make their way through the system.
you're welcome to credit me; my IG handle is my name; maybe the artist will see themselves if you amplify 🌈
These folks were at the DC rally, too. Happy to be photographed and no names.
I got permission from the artist to show their face so I think it's ok to use publicly. I do not know their name.
do you see the "M" in a circle on the lower right? Could that be identification for the photographer?

For no reason at all: I suggest you take time & watch footage from the Hong Kong democracy protests — specifically 2019-2020 protests. Get a sense of what tech-enabled anti-protest policing looks like. Those kids came up with wild stuff to withstand/neutralize “non-lethal” crowd control techniques.
that's an impressive article; it focuses on how our USA military can support nonviolent protest to authoritarian regimes abroad. I see the way the new FB accounts by HSI and CBP try to "shape the narrative"; my friend and cousin in Australia and Germany, however, see Portland's frog everywhere.
good article; timely and thank you for sharing

Cops led us into the street as the new “protest zone” and then beat us repeatedly.

Got hit in the face with a baton. Leaving to pick up my friends who were arrested.

Stay safe out there.

Today, Trump's trying to make us comfortable with masked agents on the streets.

Tomorrow, Trump's looking to leverage this power, take advantage of our elections, and scare voters away.

We must call this what it is: a power grab that echoes the rise of authoritarian regimes.
