My husband was hospitalized in August and was medically immunosuppressed
No ONE WORE a mask and he wasn’t placed on Resp Isolation
Now he has severe lung damage from Covid 19 which he got in the hospital
and is oxygen dependent

All could have been prevented with a N95 mask
Patient came in with sore throat. While waiting for rapid Strep test result we glanced back at the Covid-19 RAT result: positive. Reminder that masking in health care makes sense, if you don’t want everyone in your waiting room to go home sick, your staff to get sick, and physicians to get sick.

We get vaccines to prevent disease and death—vaccines have saved countless lives. But despite the fact that the claim that vaccines cause autism has been debunked repeatedly, RFK Jr. continues to promote it, even now stating it on the CDC website.

Some vaccines like COVID and flu don’t stop completely stop infection.

But they do reduce the risk of getting infected and greatly reduce severe illness risk.

They are still worth getting.

Since they are not 100% effective it’s also wise to add another layer of protection by wearing a mask.

Affordable coverage leads to earlier diagnoses, better management of chronic disease, and fewer hospitalizations. ACA subsidies are essential, but they’re also a reminder: access should never hinge on subsidies at all. We need universal coverage. #SinglePayerNow #M4A #HealthJustice #HealthcareForALL

Someone turned up on one of our threads the other day and said something very irritating… but probably a commonly held belief.

“They should only tell us if a significantly different virus turns up..”

Ok. Not irritating. Infuriating. I’ll explain why.

Wearing a mask at your medical appointments is important not just to protect yourself, and to protect other patients, but also to protect the ever-dwindling number of healthcare providers.

The people helping us all live healthier lives deserve health protection, too.

Brownstone raised millions to undermine COVID prevention policies.

Now at least 8 people with ties to Brownstone hold senior positions at federal health agencies, where they are restricting vaccines and cutting science funding.

I am a NIH RECOVER Patient Rep. Something that comes up frequently is the question of how to inform doctors so they will both take precautions and inform patients. Do you have any suggestions for how to get doctors to act on the knowledge of airborne pathogens?
