Good to see more electric cars and fewer petrol and diesels in the latest UK new car numbers from @smmt-ukauto.bsky.social - transport is the biggest part of UK emissions and this is a big part of getting it to net zero. Dec will probably be even bigger for EVs.

Deeply saddened at reports more than 1,000 people have been killed by severe floods & landslides in Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Thailand and Malaysia.

As rains continue, millions remain affected. This tragedy is a stark reminder of #ClimateChange impacts & urgent need to act.

We're more sophisticated at it now with our gas boilers and internal combustion engines, but humans have depended on a simple energy principle since we lived in caves: if you need energy, set something on fire. If we're going to prevent climate disaster, then we need to move away from burning stuff. And while solar and wind power are cleaner and cheaper, there is a trade-off.

Nice film. Insurance doesn't usually look this dramatic.
An uninsurable world isn’t a future idea. Climate risks are rising so fast that insurers are pulling back, leaving some regions nearly impossible to cover.

This is brilliant news. Here's something horrible the last UK government did that this one has put a stop to. Hope there are many more to come!
Congratulations to JA!, Friends of the Earth Mozambique, who we are campaigning alongside and who are tirelessly working to ensure this project does not go ahead.

For frontline communities, losses are often unquantifiable. Still, we continue to demand that polluters pay.
