Hundreds are gathered at the Portland ICE facility, lining the sidewalks. Federal agents have already used gas to try to clear protesters from the area. Protesters are chanting "F*CK you fascists!"

Federal police again deployed teargas and pepper balls at a massive crowd of protesters in front of the ICE facility. Several agents chased protesters across the street, then fired off munitions.

Flashdance is a real mixed bag of a movie. Darren Aronofsky's Black Swan is a much better film about a dancer. Bits and pieces of Flashdance still really work for me though.

Donald Trump's effort to deploy troops in American cities is not normal.

There is no rational justification for such a deployment.

It is a breach of the most fundamental values and customs that our armed forces operate on.

Trump pardoned George Santos and said it was because he was a “loyal Republican.”

This is a message to every Republican in the party that if they cross Trump they cannot depend on his having their back or pardoning them.

It’s his way of solidifying absolute control over the Party.
