I have to imagine that (and I say this not in jest but as a realization) Standards folks right now with the cloudflare outage primarily due to mitigating vulnerability React Server Components is kind of a 🤷‍♂️ moment for standards teams/folks.

Cloudflare experienced a significant traffic outage on December 5, 2025, starting approximately at 8:47 UTC. The incident lasted approximately 25 minutes before resolution. We are sorry for the impac...

I am so confused by what I am seeing/reading by many over on X. What have people actually seen within AI to think a "singularity" is being approached? What have people actually seen to make them think all that is in the future is humans fighting to survive against AI?

Watching someone try to get good at a skill to be mistaken as AI has me reflecting.

If you are pursuing craft with tender love and care you DONT OWE ANYONE an explanation if they mistake it for AI

A bit of a vulnerable post by me but we need your help to get us through what has been a more difficult period than 2020.

It would be really appreciated if you could read and share in your networks too 💛

It’s been a very hard year - Andy Bell
Unlike a lot of places in tech, my company, Set Studio/Piccalilli has no outside funding. Bootstrapped is what the LinkedIn people say, I think. It’s been a hard year this year. A very hard year...

It causes quite the irritation in my that “apart” and “a part” are separated by a space and have complete opposite meanings

Also, if “a part” is brought together to “apart” wouldn’t “apart“ more intuitively be understood as joined? And the opposite for “apart” being split to “a part”.

I’m sure this is a AI realization many others have had

The greatest deception I feel I’m seeing is the promise of turning AI users into masters of many crafts

Growing more and more convinced by the day that there is an incredible amount of people making good money by lying to others about their “methods” and “scripts” and “playbooks”

Give people a false promise they will pay you and then those same people are used as “evidence” that it works.

Three community ideas for bluesky people to help me process:

A course creators community. Just somewhere to share ups downs, and whats working and not. Thinking developer specific

A community to simply inspire and bring to light what’s possible with code. I get so bored with so much

My greatest hope for Christian authors and orgs that review books is that they would know the author is under no obligation to address the full extent of biblical doctrines when saying any one thing

As a reader, my hope is to hear what is being said and not immediately say “but what about?!”

I feel bluesky may be the only place that has developers who care about this answer

Are there any tools out there that radically simplify building PWA's? Wasn't sure if @bell.bz would know of some.

I really don't want to go down the expo route and use react native for a mobile app, would love pwa

The introduction in “On Writing Well” is one of the most concise encapsulations of so many professions and societal trends.

Oh the internal agony of this cycle:

think I must have a good idea to make money -> no one wants the idea -> think I need a better idea -> get fed up and just need to make money -> slightly begin the process -> start trying to find the best idea again -> realize no one wants it -> and on and on

I’ve tried ADHD meds before and it is now becoming a reality for me that they all have probably actually worked but because I forget to drink water and had unbearable headaches I thought they were ineffective

Can we get people responding to bring awareness of work people are doing around cancer?

Experimental places
Tech advances
Anything else like this

1) trying to find places for friends
2) just feels a big lack of awareness of what is being done around it (maybe just me)

Do you ever think about how far you would be along if you just follow directions and paths laid out for you by those who know what they are talking about?

I do and it haunts me and we are past halloween

For any Yugioh fans

Back in the day I had a game, I still do actually, called Dark Duel Stories.

With technology where it is I would like to build a web based version of that game. There are so many things I like about it. I actually have a decent initial proof of concept.

The coffee paradox for aging adults

As a 20 year old we crushed energy drinks, coffee, etc. People even tried filtering coffee with red bull.

You could still be tired & in bed by 1030

As an aging adult with kids & sleep deprived, having coffee after 11 keeps me up til 3am 🤷‍♂️

Alright Case Study 1 is up. A lot of conversations I have with people are in a southern evangelical context and so spirituality, the bible, God, sin and so on will come up in many of these case studies.

This one is on anxiety and helping a friend in it

What are the best writing tools that my friends who love to write have found? I find nothing satisfies and yet I don't know what I am looking for.

Feels like it would have options for:
- parallel documents
- document storage and references
- search
- canvas for sketching / notes
- timer for focus
