Psycho has lost a lot of its terror on seeing that it was created by Lofty From EastEnders

This photo of Robert Bloch is the most writer photo to have ever writer photo’d. It is Pure Writer Photo.

"And on Thursday, clear conditions will move into the East with a high chance of Keats being quoted in a broadsheet comment piece"

This is great.

A couple of years ago I had a special tour of the Nottingham Catacombs (notable as they contain no bones as us Brits are a bit squeamish) but I did find this MYSTERY MESSAGE deep below
Nottingham Catacombs message scrawled on wall "I need a" ...poo"

Not a porno as such, but does have Sid James in it.

A common term of endearment in Nottingham is 'duck', so thank you autocorrect for changing it to 'fuck' everytime I type it, including today, when I sent a message to a police office friend...

Ah yes! That's the bookshop. Absolutely lovely guy who ran it. Only expected to be there an hour but ended up spending the day ambling around chatting.

There's a lovely new fostering awareness film being launched nationally, and I'm an extra in it for 0.002 seconds, in the top right of this shot (and my son is the one in the oversized cap).

Anyway, if you can, you should consider fostering.

Eight years ago today I went to Southwell Minster to interview a bookshop owner and took this pic in the graveyard. Stuck it on Twitter, and it went viral for years in various forms. I still see it, shorn of connection to me, doing its stuff, living its best life out in Internetland.

Friend has given me a bunch of old New Yorker mags and waded through a Phish-length article about Phish that made them sound incredible, so listened to some and now I can never trust anything in the New Yorker ever again

Just interviewed (or rather helped a student interview) Dominik Diamond, who I thought might be a little terrifying. Turns out he's an extremely lovely, fascinating man who gave up his time to help a student Journo. Top man.

Once accidentally caused a rumour that Sean Bean had died / became good friends with the son of the guy who invented the Kenwood Chef food mixer.

I once went to a press thing with Clegg when he was Deputy PM. He spoke for a 30-40 mins and when finished I looked down at my notes and there was nothing there. Nothing. He'd said nothing at all, and I'd just drawn some trees instead. It was probably zen, but worse.

Today's office, talking to an audience of 250 students and the brilliant @mattzki.bsky.social about how podcasts have grown and morphed over the years. Huge amount of student engagement and questions, and genuinely enlightening for all (well, definitely me)

She is stunning: we have behind in EVERY GAME this season bar one, and gone onto win. Her half time team talks must be something.

Forest Women just got their first home win in WSL2, in a fantastic dominant game which saw them hit four back, including two long range crackers, after conceding. Now third in a tough league.

If you want some joy in Garibaldi Red, this is your place...

I get students to bring in news stories that they've noticed, to discuss in class. Invariably: "Sweet K-Star has beef with Rolly Bumpers, snaps 0.5 vid that they lack rizz" while I have something about the Chancellor's fiscal headroom. Tower of Babel.

OGS to NFFC. Just putting this down for future reference.
