I went to a specialist running shop and found that I’d been wearing the wrong size running shoes for years! You don’t get that expertise by mail order!
I enjoy my running first and foremost and everything comes from that. I don’t agree with ‘no pain, no gain’. I find positives in each and every run, my running goals are aspirations not straitjackets and I’m part of a few online groups that run, post and encourage.
Two black toe nails - seems pretty normal. Actually, my feet have improved since starting to wear toe socks a few months ago.

On the ITB rehabilitation schedule was a 30 minute 3min/1min run/walk.Followed the James Dunne stretches beforehand. No pain/twinges until 2 miles, but then only 2/10 pain. Good to be out even in rain. Stretches day tomorrow

Oh no! I’m trying to rehabilitate my ITB. ChatGPT designed a schedule of run/walk/run days and stretching days to come back slowly. As indisciplined as I am I’m still following the program 😬. 2 mins running and 1 min walking this morning, for 30 minutes.

Agreed, nothing does what running does. I tried cycling when laid off with plantar fasciitis - is just wasn’t the same. Hope your recovery goes well and keep posting so we can encourage you 👍
Great to be out early on a disciplined run/walk to rehabilitate my ITB. Loved the transformation of the park from darkness to light and enjoyed my audiobook (suspicious death in Norfolk 😬). No ITB pain but taking it easy

I’m so close to my running goal - still achievable if I get back to running in a week or so 🤞.

Now on a 3 wk program for ITB rehab. Mixing up run/walk with strengthening days. Probably all comes from my weak glutes, a recurring problem. Need just as much discipline to come back slowly as to run my normal 6 days/wk.

It’s not often I’m sensible about running but I’ve taken a rare day off due to injury, a sore ITB. I’ve a dilemma whether to have a physio appt or, more likely, get on with the ITB exercises that are commonly prescribed.
