Aslan is trying to stand on his own now. This is a huge sign of hope and getting better.

Today in Aslan

Every single time I opened my laptop to write he went into a barking fit.

I could check social. He wouldn't react. I'd open the backend of my blogs and anger.

Dice.camp is at 68% but we can do better!
Results from tracking 34,740 images across 1,542 instances from the mastodon.social federated timeline.

Then filtering down to the top 1000 instances by active user from instances.social who had posted at least 34 images (1.5x the average).

I can't do maps.

I'm bad at it. But I love writing and playing in fantasy worlds.
What I do is create word maps. The nodes connect to each other almost like dungeon rooms. Each also has evocative details within that include dangers or safety to help compel cinematic play.

The lava forge has a […]

WotC put out some stealth errata on the new #DnD Lorwyn Changeling.

It now reads "Unpredictable Movement. Whenever you roll Initiative, you can immediately move up to half your Speed, provided you don't have Disadvantage on the Initiative roll."

No longer referencing an out of initiative order […]

I'm playing around with a new way to write recaps -- rather than focus on the action, i want to focus on the clues, the quests and the NPCs moving forward.

My goal is to help the players remember the things that their characters would remember. Who cares if the battle lasted 30 seconds!

The advert for Heroes of the Borderlands reminded me that saying yes to adventure introduced me to who I would become and who I am.

Saying yes to adventure
Saying yes to D&D changed me many, many times. It made me a better person, a better friends and helped me tell the stories I cannot tell myself.

One of my favorite D&D isms is from Jeremy Crawford
"A diverse group is a strong group."

He's talking about party composition in a game where cooperation is key. But he's also talking about life.
