Looking for others with Periodic Paralysis to chat with and exchange health management tips. I have been an active member of the Periodic Paralysis community for over 20 years.

The USDA sent an email to grocery stores telling them they are prohibited from offering special discounts to customers affected by the SNAP funding lapse.
I'm aware of at least 2 stores that had offered struggling customers a discount, then withdrew it after receiving this email
Fully abled people over 50 years old are like Unicorns to me. Many of them pretend to be abled bodied, but they all end up having something that affects them in a significant way.
The older people are, the more I just assume that they have an invisible disability or two. Part of why I am so open about my disabilities with strangers is that way they feel like they can be honest about the accommodations they need to to function better.
The Emperor hasn't been wearing clothes for a long time and yet everyone is acting like he is wearing the finest cloths.
I am more disturbed that the 25th Amendment was never seriously activated for Trump starting in March 2017 when his Dementia was first openly obvious to Cabinet members.
What he said Part 2: 💯 🎯
I have the most heinous food allergies as well as mobility issues. Sites that can't accommodate my food allergies are potentially deadly locations. I have opened doors to building, fallen no longer breathing, and either crawled out the building or had someone pull my carcass out.
If I badly want to go to the location, I have to call them in advance and grill them about all the accessibility needs I have. Most of the time it is not accessible for me. I sometimes try to go if I think I can maybe manage around some of the problems, but I have been forced to give up often.
A sane Government would subsidize fruits and vegetables for people using EBT cards. Although without enough storage space or the ability to cook fresh foods still would limit which fruits and vegetables would be purchased.
Once Walmart and other large retailers that take EBT cards start whining to Trump, there is a small chance he will reverse the decision. Don't hold out too much hope though since they want the little children to suffer as much as possible.
Hugs. Don't stop trying for disability. 65% or more of disability applicants are denied the first time they apply. However, the next time you apply make sure to get a Disability lawyer involved who gets paid if you win the case. Sure you lose a large chunk of the amount, but at least you have it.
I hate it when I want to go to a fun location only to find out the hard way that it is in no way handicap accessible.

"This flagship is more than a restaurant, it’s a statement of intent." – Richard Wallis, President of Flynn Group Asia Pacific (Wendy’s franchise operators).

Was/is there any intent to think of disabled people as people who deserve access?

#DisabilityJustice
I am grumpy because #disability is so often an afterthought.

Wendy's in the Brisbane CBD hired a DJ for the opening & spent $$$$$ on marketing...

Only for there to be no #accessibility information available?

And seemingly no wheelchair access?

An "immersive experience" only for some, I guess 😅
Every day and sometimes every hour is a new day of adapting to the latest and greatest Disability indignity. Each time a person Adapts, they go through the 5 Stages of Grief. If you do it often enough, you become an expert at the 5 Stages of Grief and can go through them faster than others.
Doesn't sound pathetic or whiny to me. Everyone has bad days. When disability is kicking your ass, you have a few more bad days than others. It is better to verbalize or at least type out your pain, so you don't let it fester. Festered pain is what worsens disabilities fast.

Will I be able to scare even one trick or treater this year or will they scare me first?

Thank you to everyone who’s supported us.

And a special thank you to Illinois elected officials — including many of my opponents — who have condemned this political prosecution by the Trump administration:

The largest war ship in the world has been moved to the Caribbean, along with other ships, bombers, amphibious vehicles and more.

That’s a lot of firepower to stop small vessels carrying drugs.

It looks a lot more like preparation for war.

Congress needs to get involved before it’s too late.

I remember when gaming was considered "Evil" and parents were advised to keep kids from D&D and computer games. Some social media is needed for connection, since there is less quality social opportunities outside the internet for kids compared to my generation or my parents generation.
I have also been banned as a Liability due to my Food Allergies and other times I have had to self ban, since they wouldn't accommodate my food allergies and I didn't want another ER trip.
My disability didn't kick in hardcore until I was an adult, but I have been told so many times that I am a Liability right before being permanently denied access from businesses and social groups. If doctors offices could get away with it, they would probably try to ban me too due to my falls.
Judy Heumann was once denied school at 5 for being a "fire hazard." By 30, she led the 504 Sit-In, igniting the disability-rights movement. Her fight for ramps, respect, and representation reshaped history.
