A waxing cresent moon at dusk, captured with the phone camera and spotting scope. The scope tends to be used mainly for birding / terrestrial targets but it also does well with the moon. Using just your eye is even better. Jupiter and its moons look great at present. #astrophotography #🌒 #jupiter

Air travel remains artificially cheap despite its massive drain on the environment. It’s time for change.

The cost of flying must reflect the enormous harm the aviation industry is causing to our planet.
Opinion: Expanding Dublin Airport now would fly in the face of climate reality
Letting various aviation expenses to go untaxed has made air travel artificially cheap despite its massive drain on the environment, writes Aoife O’Leary.

Astonishing video, worth watching in full.
While agreeing in the round,
I've found this (below) both reassuring and highlighting of the need for constant vigilance. There is no perfect end state. See if you can see where the 'thousand year reich' occurs (also, that Roman Empire lasted quite a while).

Big important read below. It details the planetary crisis we are in, and where we are heading. The constant push for growth and exploitation of finite resources have put our biosphere in peril in a remarkably small time frame. Urgent collective and brave political actions were never more needed.
