Wait, shit, I forgot Kev Walker did art for Dr Aphra. How cool would it be to get him to do an Aphra Magic card if they ever did UB: Star Wars!?!?

He had to be laughing when he wrote this.

From Doctor Aphra #1. Words by Kieron Gillen, art by Kev Walker, color by Antonio Fabela, letters by VC's Joe Caramagna
Doctor Aphra attempts to distract some thugs by pointing and shouting "Oh no, it's the Death Star!" When this fails she says "Sorry, my mistake. Trick of the light. It was the moo--" but is cut off by a blow from one of the thugs

Fair enough! We'll just have to wait until we get more info.

That said, the 2 UBs I'm most excited for both being smaller sets would put a damper on my interest, so I'm going to cross my fingers!

I'm so sorry for your loss. My dad passed this summer from a very aggressive cancer and we're all still working through it. I wish you and your family the best in these tough times.

Any thoughts on why you think Star Trek might be the other small set? It's been confirmed that they have the whole series to pull from, so 12 shows and at least as many movies, plus other media.

I would think that The Hobbit would be more likely to get the small set treatment personally.

Anything to keep the party out of the hands of millennials?

I really need to just start making that Hobbit food deck. The problem is they just keep making more good food cards, it's hard to keep up 😅

I'm always looking for ways to make Spellweaver Helix work in Commander lol

I kind of forgot what this card did... Now I'm thinking that Cruel Ultimatum might not necessarily be my hands down favorite Spellweaver Helix target.

Might have to brew this 🤣

I've been thinking about a spirit deck or horror monsters or something for the Dane. Not 100% on exactly what I want to do either though.

"You're not an ATM, you're a real, live person. You eat, sleep, play, and work. That means you make money, unlike us. So we need you to give us some. Preferably a lot, but we'll also take a little. It doesn't matter to us, so long as you donate."

Doctor Aphra on some Magic cards would be incredible, just saying.

If you see this, post a robot.

You should absolutely convince him to do a study aboard series of SU&P.

You know those are going to be the first to go too

I just thought about how pissed everyone is going to be when the PS lairs sell out in 5 minutes but people will somehow still be in a queue for 3 hours before they find out

IDK how it works for the House, and I'm cooking dinner so I can't look it up, but Rep Tlaib is always relevant:

Which is of course some amount of bs. They control lair print sizes, drop rates of rarities, how much of a product is printed, how often to reprint something, product cost, etc. All of those things affect the secondary market, but to acknowledge it is to increase their liability, so 🤷‍♂️
beamtownartisan.bsky.social
At least for the second hand sales, it's the same problem as boosters, WotC just can't acknowledge it, and likely just doesn't care so long as their sales are good. It's like Maro's recent interview with GameSpot, it's capitalism and they can't control the prices.

Make like the foil ones limited run, but the nonfoil print to demand for a week or something. Or like, you're guaranteed a quick delivery on limited print, but have to wait for demand. That would be cool too. They could even add some other kind of early purchase bonus.
