Respectfully disagree. The people in the juke weren’t orphan only children of only children. Sammie had parents and younger siblings. I understand the sentiment but they used her and she succumbed by letting her emotion take precedence over Annie’s knowledge and the greater good.
I get that people are angry at Grace, but Coogler clearly set her up as a mother protecting her child. Fiercely. She was the only one in the juke joint who had someone she loved in town in danger. The dad vampire would have easily killed the kid. She was ready to die to protect her kid.
