So many of us have worked hard our whole lives, only for others to swindle us.

We should all be swindle-proofed.
It's a right, not charity because we once could access resources to survive, before worldwide enclosure.

It's a right because where we now are is the result of generations of our ancestors. It's our combined work that brought us to a place of job precarity.

The welfare state we use was designed for an industrial world that ran on horses and steam power. Labour has long changed since then. We should change from a net full of holes to a solid floor.

Happy Thanksgiving to my US friends and followers.

Today is a day of both abundance as well as the footprint of working together to bring everyone that abundance. Everyone deserves a seat at the table.

"Our faith is a living thing, and it can be crippled or chained. It can be killed by denying us enough food or clothing, by blasting away our personalities and keeping us in constant fear."

Universal basic income brings freedom from want for all. Happy Thanksgiving and may we all gain that freedom.

We've earned a better future. It's crazy to both scare ourselves out of it and not share in the benefits of it, suggesting we should all just work ever harder to make up the difference.

There's a UBI post on FB being reposted by thousands of accounts that's pro-UBI disinfo. No, Sweden didn't do a big UBI pilot where 5,000 Swedes got $1800/mo in UBI for 3 years. That never happened. The "results" appear to be AI-generated. UBI works. It doesn't need false data. See my pinned thread.

Tried to explain this! It's just started from somewhere besides zero. My sister and I didn't just turn into blobs because we had someplace to launch from. It gave certainty to take risks if anything.

Basic income isnt about everyone with a hammock. Its about everyone with boots, a springboard, a rope ladder to the escape helicopter.

Just takes a little faith.🌟

If AI succeeds, we need universal basic income, and if AI fails, we need universal basic income. Also, we should have implemented UBI decades ago when working class incomes first decoupled from productivity growth.
So if AI succeeds loads of people lose their jobs as they're replaced by AI, and if AI fails, loads of people lose their jobs as the economy crashes?
It’s amazing how this story has gone from 0 to 60 in UK press. There’s been no mainstream coverage to date but this morning the story is leading BBC News site & bulletins.

S. Korea has doubled the budget for its massive universal basic income experiment, increasing the number of rural counties included in it from 7 to 12, and relieving counties of more of the cost. As a result, the number of participants in the 2-yr UBI pilot will go from ~250k to near 400,000 people.

When the employed are pushed into homelessness
In America we are taught hard work is the key to success. But despite having full-time jobs, many families are locked out of the rental housing market, due to low wages, soaring rents and poor credit,...
