It’s not good enough that CPD eventually cleared space for ICE to leave their pkg lot, blocking streets with their own SUV’s and holding neighbors back while the ICE vehicle drove away. This is not a NIMBY situation where I want ICE to just post up in different pkg lot in a different neighborhood.

Pro-tip: if you have video of you or others directly intervening to obstruct ICE or de-arrest someone, for god’s sake don’t post it on social media. Or at a minimum blur faces first. You’re just begging for federal charges.

If you are just catching up, after CBP shot a woman, angry community members showed up to protest the agents who have been terrorizing their community for weeks.

It ended with more chemical munitions, arrests, and CBP recklessly speeding off through a cloud of tear gas.

Happening now: at Kedzie and 40th, where Border Patrol agents just opened fire on rapid response this afternoon. A woman CFD says they found after the incident is reported in fair condition.

A growing number of outraged neighbors have gathered across from ICE/CBP agents who have closed Kedzie.
