I used to throw my racket when I played tennis in high school and got upset. It didn’t calm me down, it just made me ready to throw the racket whenever I was mad. Stopping the habit stopped the instinct, which wasn’t a good one.

See I feel like it would’ve been fine if just built up more. I think it was always going to end with redemption, but idk give me some reason to like him and feel like I earned this. And most of the side characters were on interesting paths, they just suddenly end with the status quo.

Feels like a lot of characters story lines are ending in a very unsatisfying way too. Hercules, cynical, prometheus still mad, Arachne staying a spider, echos still an echo, gods are all still assholes. I think the best Mel did is getting Narcissus to remember her name.
