I'm at the point in #canthurtme when Goggins has just shouted at me for being overweight and unhealthy. And now I'm going to the gym in the morning.

We need to start calling "affluent neglect" what it actually is...
Emotional neglect
Emotional abuse
Supervisory neglect
Professionalisation childcare.

It screws up kids.

Someone at work told me today I should be talking about "neglect in affluent settings" instead of "neglect in affluent families". Screw that. We need to position the problem exactly where it is - in the families.

Heartbreak season is officially here. I remember being dumped by my first boyfriend at 15, after about 8 months and lying wailing on the floor for days before my mam kicked me and told me I had to go back to school. We got back together 2 days later. My poor mam 😄

Signs of ovarian cancer that I thought were something else:
1. Bad back (blamed on mattress)
2. Heavy, blood-clotted periods (blamed on perimenopause)
3. Needing the toilet all the time (blamed on age)
4. Weight gain (blamed on perimenopause/laziness)

I've had a crazy old year. Went from self employed to back to school counselling, got married, diagnosed with ovarian cancer & now recovering from surgery. Thankfully they got it all, so NFA needed. Last year I had Denge Fever & all my hair dropped out... I wonder what will try to kill me in 2025 😆
