My name is Anthony Woodward, I’m an Australian comic artist who lives in Canada.
I love making non-fiction comics mostly ‘autofiction’ and more recently about UFOs.
I also like drawing robot junk heaps and a couple of years ago I made an all ages comic called Bored in Space.

I haven’t been drawing many comics lately but I have been writing them. Specifically some longer form ones.
A couple of days ago I went to jot down someone notes and that turned into a 20 page comic I’m hoping to get stuck into soon.

Lately I’ve been making this fake/substitute Hollandaise sauce that I love.
1 tbs of mayonnaise, sour cream, milk/cream and a squirt of Dijon/Mustard. Stir and zap in the microwave for 22 seconds and pour over your poached eggs 😋

Refining a new way to draw myself. I find it helpful to just draw the same thing 100 times.
For this I drew 8 rough sketches and picked my favourite. I then did 8 versions refining that further and picking a favourite again. These are 8 inked versions.

Still haven’t figured out how I write my comics. Maybe it’s true that each and every new story requires a different approach.
My current method is mostly throwing spaghetti and the wall and seeing what has the right vibe.

This is a page from part one of a comic I’ve been trying to finish writing for the past year. I haven’t inked any other pages but inked this one just to test out a certain approach. Happy with how it came out but still not set on how I draw myself now I’m beardless and have long hair. #comic

Looking back on an old comic trying to figure out the process I used. It’s like someone else drew it and I’m looking at all the layers to try and reverse engineer it.

We wanted to watch a Christmas movie last night. We had two false starts before we ended up just rewatching Happiest Season. Such a good film.

Someone asked me about the word Doovalacky (as in Doohicky or thingamajig) and I didn’t realise that was an Australian version of the word.
