What Africa Lost Under Trump: At least $5 Billion. What It Got In Return: “True Chaos.” — VEZA

Donors pledged $11billion at the #GlobalFund #8thReplenishment. It’s a welcome start, but it’s not enough, falling short of the $18billion goal. Read AVAC’s statement to learn what’s at stake and why donors who have yet to pledge must close the gap. avac.org/press-releas...

The new @unaids.org report shows we were closer than in decades to ending AIDS by 2030, yet new #HIV infections stayed flat in ’24, and even before funding cuts, efforts weren’t enough to drive them down. We must double down with bolder, more strategic action to drive real decline.
In 2025, sudden US funding cuts and reductions from key donors shocked the global AIDS response.

Today, we're releasing a new report showing how these disruptions unfolded & the resilience of communities and countries protecting progress.

As #GlobalFund pledges at the 8th Replenishment summit appear lacking (including the US) in matching ambition, we can't afford to stop global progress in #HIV #TB & #malaria just as innovations are within reach.

The USG decision to exclude South Africa from its plan to deliver #LEN for #PrEP is a huge missed opportunity. For a market that drives volume up & prices down, and delivers impact, SA is the CENTER of the market. PEPFAR & Global Fund engagement with SA is essential. More in WashPo: buff.ly/QWN6Hvv

#LEN for #PrEP as arrived in Eswatini and Zambia. It's faster access to a new #PrEP product than ever before. But the very low #'s in this 1st delivery, 1,000 doses, point to all the work that still needs to be done. The world needs speed, scale and equity to achieve impact.
