as I've considered and ultimately decided against revising my story to remove that element. I've made peace with the possibility that it will keep it from finding a home because I want an agent who also sees value in this worldview. Thank you for coming to my TED talk. 4/🧵

about the experience of people (most of us!) who have survived/overcome/are continuing to grapple with "dark themes" in our lives and what it feels like to essentially hear "I'm not interested in reading about that." Again, everyone has a right to choose what they want to read and/or represent, 2/🧵

#amquerying authors whose stories have darker themes- as one of you, I've received several query passes specifically citing the dark theme as the reason for the pass. I know it isn't for everyone, and that's okay. But it's made me wonder /🧵
