This was great. I used it to think about the next book I'm writing, and it helped me dig deeper into the characters. I'm a pantser, but I think this one will need less revising since I've done some of the work now.

"What are you doing? If you got here before us, why didn't you just go on inside?"
Troy looked at Michelle. She shrugged. "I didn't want to be the first."
Royd frowned. "I don't know what it is with you two. She's not a monster."
Michelle and Talia exchanged glances.

Royd finally broke the spell. His hand slid slowly down her arm, leaving goosebumps in its track, and he tugged her closer. She didn’t resist. His eyes were pulling her in as much as his hand, and now she was standing in front of him, a fraction of an inch separating them. #wipsnips
Don't have a song yet but the vibes for the FMC will be like Confident by Demi Lovato.

Best I've got.

On one side, a gas fireplace and on the other, a kitchen, not huge but big enough.
There was a broom leaning in one corner, a roll of packing tape left on the kitchen countertop.
“Nice place.” She said, narrowing her eyes at me.
“Let’s check it out.”

“Cooper refused a costume. He wore a suit and said he was Christian Bale in American Psycho. So our goalie before Petey, Marcus, poured red punch all over him, to look like blood. I thought Coop would strangle him, but we were at a kid’s hospital, and the kids all roared with laughter.”

Best I could do - at least it's from a Halloween short story.

“I can’t wear that. There are children at the event. This could scare them.”
He didn’t respond, merely shrugged. People behind me began to murmur.
“It’s for a charity thing. I need a clown costume that’s not that.”

Two hockey players, so I'll need to check in the women and men's teams share an arena or not. And since sex at the arena wouldn't really be that romantic, I'll need where they live. And I believe the initial meet will be at a coach's house for a Thanksgiving for North Americans.

All of Us Murderers by @kjcharleswriter.com just hit the top of my holds, so I've got that on my reader and that's my day booked. Sorry if you wanted me for anything. #romancelandia #reading
I tend to give secondary characters so much back story that they all need their own stories.
Getting back to this after travelling. This book is the first in a series, so the supporting characters HAVE to be interesting enough for people to want to continue. It's a women's hockey series, so mostly the coach and other players. Just have to weave them in.

Got your hard hat ready?
Was he serious? Would she need a hard hat?
I have no idea if you're serious. Will I really need a hat?
The answer came back almost immediately.
I won't start you on the hard hat level. Sure you want to do this?
Absolutely. I was born to saw or hammer or whatever. #wipsnips
If only Bruce had kept his job. Maybe Erik and I could have made something of our marriage. Maybe I could have become a doctor, with the additional money that would provide.
While I was at it, why not wish Mom had never got sick? Or that we’d won the lottery?
#wipsnips
“I heard you’d got married too?”
She looked away. “I was. Divorced now.”
“I’m sorry.” Even without the publicity shitstorm I had attached to mine, a divorce wasn’t a good thing.
The corner of her mouth tilted up. “But I got my son, Arne. So it wasn’t a total loss.”

For the MMC, contact with his father. Phone calls, messages, memories. For FMC, since the PWHL starts later than the French league, constantly checking signings, rosters, hoping for a call. I think.

Sharing a bus with Herb was a trial, if he was on one of his sleep with anything that moves streaks. Jimmy and Stella wouldn’t notice, since they were so wrapped up in each other, but it would be a break for Martha and me.
Wait, Aaron would be a bus. How the hell was that going to work? #wipsnips
FYI, I’m finding this extremely helpful, just some terminology that I don’t use.
I feel that they learn new things all the way through the story. How close is act 2 to the climax? I know how the story works, just not where the acts are in it. I had 11 books published traditionally before self pubbing, so I have this stuff, just not the correct labels.
“That’s not right. She liked you,” Josh insisted.
I rolled my eyes again. Madeline tilted her head in a question. I shook mine.
“You dodged a bullet, Katie.”
#wipsnips
This one I'm struggling with. I'm more of an intuitive writer - I've read voraciously since I was a kid, so I don't actually know exactly how the Acts line up. Is this what leads them to make some big changes, or what they find out once they've started to change?

Looking at his hand, I nodded. After what I’d seen with the coffee maker, he’d be dangerous trying to cut a loaf of bread.
“It was a bread knife that caused this—” He held up his left hand, where a long red stripe crossed his palm. The guy really was hopeless without his right hand.

MMC has to reevaluate his family history with the knowledge he's been the golden child and FMC will be reevaluating hockey play based on being more of a team player. I think. I'm a pantser, so things change as I write.
