Welcome to Maggie’s Knee, PA. Take the perfect selfie on Jessop’s Bridge, grab a tour of the KnowMe Technological Park, or visit one of the many shops and restaurants on Main Street. Don’t mind the rumors about all those missing kids. And ignore the lingering feeling that you’re being watched.
It's here! Ten authors, ten stories, one elemental theme. EARTH: AN ANTHOLOGY is available now
Currently reading NO COUNTRY FOR OLD MEN by Cormac McCarthy and listening to Michael McDowell’s BLACKWATER so please excuse my random use of southern accents and vernaculars
The habit we have of price-tagging everything is exhausting and depressing

This one's about money, moolah, cash, deniro, dollars, green, capital, funds, dough, bread, shekels, gelt, shmekels, scratch, rocks, coin...you get it.

My Bluesky game still isn’t super sharp. Missed sharing my #poem for #poetryfriday last week and this week I’m a day late. Better tardy than absent though, as some form of the phrase goes. Enjoy, friends.
The tree swallows have made an appearance early this year! They refuse to hold still so no chance of getting a clear photo with my phone camera. It’s enough for me, though, to watch them frolic and play
This European ground beetle paid me a visit while I was loading firewood into the woodshed this afternoon; the wind was pretty intense today and I assume he was taking shelter. I've seen lots of these critters around but never one this big!

Looks like this is it! Apparently I’ve seen more mature and wilted specimens. This is the first I’ve seen it so young and vibrant
Any idea what this stuff is? It’s all up and down the river shore. It’s a briny river if that helps. Assuming it’s a type of seaweed - I’ve just never seen / noticed it before
They're not universally loved but I very much enjoy having grackles around

Spent probably way too much time last night listening to and then reading about American woodcocks aka timberdoodles. Are they related to labradoodles…? And what of snickerdoodles?
A true mystery.

With all the poetry I keep posting, it's probably easy to forget I write books. Here's one I wrote. I'm sure I've never mentioned THE ORCHID ROOM before.

#poetryfriday !
Wrote this ages ago, maybe fifteen years in the past, possibly more. It's one l've come back to over and over again, though I was never really happy with it. Recently I tweaked it a bit and I think I can finally call it done

This is the most snow buntings I've seen gathered in one place around here. Up until now it's been small flocks of ten at most. Wait, are these guys to blame for all this snow?

Still trying to make #poetryfriday a thing. Here’s one about my #writing desk. Style inspired by Billy Collins, whose work I very much enjoy.

Poetry Friday!
Today's verse "Snow at the End of March" is inspired and brought to you by the dumping of snow we experienced earlier this week after IT HAD ALL MELTED!!! #notbitter

Available for pre-order.....just saying
Coming May 20th, 2025. My very first full dramatic novel. Available via Indigo, Amazon, Barns and Noble, etc...and direct from me, if you live close enough. #novel #drama #fiction
“Stranger Things but much more ‘fun’” feels like high praise 😏
