For reference....out of the last 11 archers we've summoned, a grand total of one of them actually uses a bow. Two, if you'd count Tam Lin Tristian despite the lack of actual archery being used.

Archers aren't necessarily bow users. The fact that he's more of a close combat specialist is even more to our favor, even.
