I don't understand why U.S. reporters so regularly seem to let politicians get away with 'I haven't seen that' about stuff a) they obviously know and b) is directly relevant to their job. Did they sign some kind of agreement never to ask a follow-up question?

REPORTER: We know the president moved forward with mass layoffs. We're also learning there were significant cuts to staff at special education services. Are you comfortable with those cuts?

MIKE JOHNSON: I haven't seen the specifics of that and I don't know

They won’t change the device name because they’ll then have to change the OS name too, they’ll just be treated as extensions of each other.

I get using the plus to differentiate it from the Apple TV device, but ultimately it doesn’t really matter! 🤷🏻😂

If I had a nickel for every time the canonicity of a Star Trek Online ship has been announced by an New York Comic Con trailer for a Star Trek TV show, I'd have two nickels.

Which isn't a lot, but it's fucking awesome that it's happened twice. 🧵

Jupiterrise - From NASA Marshall Space Flight Center - https://flic.kr/p/MAJona
This image of the sunlit part of Jupiter and its swirling atmosphere was created by a citizen scientist (Alex Mai) using data from Juno's JunoCam instrument. JunoCam's raw images are available for the public to peruse and process into image products.

JPL manages the Juno mission for the principal investigator, Scott Bolton, of Southwest Research Institute in San Antonio. Juno is part of NASA's New Frontiers Program, which is managed at NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Alabama, for NASA's Science Mission Directorate. Lockheed Martin Space Systems, Denver, built the spacecraft. Caltech in Pasadena, California, manages JPL for NASA.

It’s been this way for decades, I remember the same things happening with DS9, VOY, ENT, then it happened to DSC and a lot of them acted like this was new behaviour.

We know the Earth’s inner core is largely solid, which sets a ceiling on its temperature, and in turn, how much heat dark matter is providing.

I had so little enthusiasm for this season, I watched the first episode and I didn’t hate it but I just couldn’t be bothered anymore. I had friends keep me up to date, none of the issues with this season surprised me at all.

That’s not even going into how disability was framed around death the whole season, the minimal queer representation and how women on the show feel poorly handled.

The earliest red flag for me was when we got the premiere episode which people hyped the hell out of, when it just felt like an average episode you would see in the middle of a season. It should have been a two parter that allowed the story to breathe and an actual introduction to the characters.

I don’t think it helps that SNW has been really regressive since S1 but largely praised.

Plus, I think all the negativity around any modern Trek series that tries to be more progressive and push things forward is just exhausting.

Maybe it’s just because my mood and energy are so low today, but it’s hard to get invested when it feels like we could end up with no Trek on TV again for a while.

Most of the ships I use in Star Trek Online are small to mid sized ships, bigger ships look interesting but smaller ships are just more fun.

It was already renewed for a second season.

I’m struggling to maintain enthusiasm about modern Trek at the moment, I don’t think it’s dying but I definitely feel like we’re in a limbo state with it.

Academy looks like a lot of fun, but it might end up going nowhere after season two.

Same!! I always love a small ship! 😌💖
