He would have liked nothing better than to fight them, & then drive over to the school & fight them too! But he strained his back lifting a transmission earlier this week & was still nursing it to get through his day on the red side of our state. He's pissed about the missed opportunity though!

Afterward the trooper told him they were likely trying to pick a fight to draw local law enforcement to the gas station, as a distraction from the local high school they had just been reported to be staking out. 🤦‍♀️🤬 I hate all of this so much. 🤬🤬🤬

🧵 Yesterday while gassing up at a Pacific Pride, a group of ICE "agents" tried to pick a fight with my husband by approaching him & demanding he tell them his opinion of them. Luckily a state trooper who knows my husband stepped in & ICE decided to leave.

As a November child, deep autumn, between Halloween & December has always been my favorite. It's a pause. A quiet, liminal space between the gathering of the harvest & the bustle of early winter. My heart adores October, but my soul cherishes November.

The upside is, people who feel rejected by "polite society" often feel safe with me. However, that tendency, also often makes me an attractive target for predators, bc they don't know, I'm able to see them for what they are. Over the years, it's put me in a lot of weird & complicated situations.

I realized this weekend why, even though people who know me find me intimidating, strangers, often those on the edges of society, approach me anyway. Bc, I rarely react to everything I see, & I treat everyone the same, no matter how they present.

🫂 Let me know if I'm missing the mark, but your experience reminds me of a post I made a while back about the vibe difference when art is made by a certain group for a certain group, rather that by others for others about a certain group. Bc, I realize now, hearing you, that's what feels icky.
