I'm back after a year hiatus and it appears activity is picking up here.

From the October 10th geomagnetic activity, a picture I took of SAR arc that hung in the western sky for an hour:

Its starting to rain at my place. Very welcome being in D1 drought conditions, if not worse. So how will I know how much I get? A rain guage of course. How much fell near me though? How about by a friends house?
Wouldn't it be great to have a network of gauges that report reliable rain data?

Saved this box turtle from getting run over today. Road is pretty busy and it didn't stand a chance near rush hour.
