I cleaned and organized the freezer today and made room for the colour carrots I bought this week. I'll chop, slice, and bag them for later use.
For dinner: pan fried rainbow trout, served with yogurt/lemon/dill sauce, mash, steamed Brussels sprouts, colour carrots, a salad. 🍜
+8˚C today. I should rake the leaves and put them around the berry bushes, but there's no point in doing so because the gusts of wind would scatter them everywhere again.🌬️🍃
For hubby’s gluten-free breakfast: persimmon, cucumber, grapes, melons, avocado, orange, apple, radishes. 🍜
We got home after playing pinball for four hours. It was fun, but I'm not really keen on cooking afterwards. I made a Bolognese type of sauce and let it simmer while I put my feet up. Pasta dishes are comfortingly delicious. I served the sauce with tagliatelle. 🍜
It's Wednesday, so hubby and I are going to play pinball at Hopeakuula Arcade. It's both a useful and fun brain workout!
For hubby’s gluten-free breakfast: cucumber, bell pepper, melons, radishes, apple, tomatoes, grapes, persimmon, avocado. 🍜
+7˚C today. The sun seems to be sleeping soundly behind soft, grey clouds. More flocks of geese are on their way to warmer countries for winter.
For breakfast: sourdough rye bread with cold smoked reindeer, grapes and cold smoked salmon, avocado and Brie, mandarin, coffee. 🍜
Yes, we often see another person having familiar characteristics when we see them for the first time. 😉
Thank you. No, but now that you mention it, he looks a bit like Martin Mull. ☀️☀️☀️
Even though the weather wasn't very favourable, hubby and I needed our evening walk before dinner.
The cold wind brought with it the inviting smell of pizza as we approached our local pub... and we were hooked!
We grabbed the pizza slices with both hands, so comforting and tasty! 🍜
Thank you. Root vegetables are at their best now, great for many dishes!
Thank you. Rainy week ahead, frosty nights too! ❄️
The rainy day was great for washing clothes and chopping and freezing vegetables, and watching a hilarious and nostalgic series: Keeping Up the Appearances. It always makes me laugh, the actors are perfect! 🎬
For dinner: a warming soup with root vegetables and sausages. 🍜
The root vegetables are juicy and aromatic now, and are excellent both raw and in stews, soups, stir-fries and baking too.
For hubby’s gluten-free breakfast: cucumber, persimmon, bell pepper, carrot, grapes, avocado, apple, mandarin, radishes, melons. 🍜
Thank you, you’re very kind!

+6˚C today. What a freezing and windy day! I went to fill the bird feeders, gusts of wind were blowing fallen leaves into the air.
For breakfast:sourdough rye bread with cucumber, Emmental, persimmon, grapes and avocado, cold smoked salmon and baked cottage cheese, apple, coffee. 🍜
The evening was windy and rainy, so hubby and I skipped our walk and instead watched the Finnish version of Strictly Come Dancing.
For dinner: pan fried rainbow trout with yoghurt/lemon/dill sauce, sautéed mushrooms, steamed carrots, Brussels sprouts and mash and a side salad. 🍜
The nights of the beginning of October have been exceptionally warm, but it’s getting colder now. My Hokkaido squash, dahlias and cyclamen are still alive.
For hubby’s gluten-free breakfast: cucumber, persimmon, plum, apple, bell pepper, radishes, melons, kiwi, avocado. 🍜
Thank you! ☀️☀️☀️
+6C ˚ today. The night frost was too much for the purple beans, cherry tomatoes and basil. All gone, only the toughest survived.
For breakfast: sourdough rye bread with an omelette with Prosciutto crudo and avocado, blue cheese, pomegranate and passion fruit, grapes, coffee. 🍜
I could hear and see huge flocks of geese and cranes flying high in the sky when I went to fill the bird feeders. It made me feel a bit melancholic.
For hubby’s gluten-free breakfast: cucumber, bell pepper, mandarin, avocado, radishes, persimmon, grapes, melons, tomatoes, apple. 🍜
+11˚C today. Rain and sunshine continue to alternate. The landscape becomes more colourful every day, it's enchanting because it happens overnight.
For breakfast: sourdough rye bread with cucumber, blue cheese, radishes and Prosciutto crudo, avocado and persimmon, grapes, coffee. 🍜
