So anyway, I created an updated version of that XdanielArt chart that contains all the Adobe alternatives since there are a lot more now than there were back when that list was originally made, and Adobe has continued to get shittier and shittier.

In videogames, picking up stuff to read and listening to audio logs isn't "bad" storytelling. It's supplementary info/worldbuilding and sometimes just meant to be fun. A metric ton of dialogue doesn't always make great narrative make but fleshes out the kind of world you're in.

Don't try to paint your dream painting, do a bunch of stencils first!
Don't try to make music that moves people, make a bunch of commercial jingles first!
