I did spend a good part of today tinkering with StreamElements, so I have a cool looking overlay and my setup now at least looks more like what I'd expect from a Twitch stream instead of just a hasty PNGtuber in the corner (not that anything's wrong with that; I just wanted something more polished).

I'm probably not going to stream today but I'll definitely have to hop on again sometime soon. I'll be doing my regular Saturday stream this weekend if nothing else.

I think I finally have some *semblance* of an idea of how this StreamElements stuff works.

That would honestly be a big "Dad Energy" stream on its own: Dad Fox tries to figure out how these kids do all this Twitch stuff

It wasn't just music. A lot of the TV shows and movies felt like that too. I can think of so many things that came out in the 2010s that we watched and thought were just the greatest thing ever, and now we look back and see how badly the referential humor has aged and just cringe.

I think more than anything else, I'm grateful to have so many people who stay in my life and put up with my bullshit.

That's not depression-posting or being down on myself; I'm self-aware enough to know that I'm a goddamn mess sometimes. I'm glad I have people who know there's more to me than that.

Truth be told, I feel bad for him too. I hope he manages to connect with someone who can help him figure his shit out.

The thing is, for the most part, he is very friendly. He's bubbly, participates in chats, and is usually very outgoing and smart.

But every few months, he just seems to have these episodes where he's willing to torch all of that for reasons that really are not clear at all.

I've been working on an essay about The Struggles of TTRPG Outreach and Fandom but I think this tumblr post just captured the whole sentiment im like 100 words.

Fact: Apart from pure recognition factor, one of the major reasons your fanart gets more eyes on it than your OCd is because people are perverts for narrative context, and your OCs don't have any.

Corollary: you don't actually need to write a whole-ass graphic novel to achieve that narrative context. You do need to know what your OC's story is, but once you do, you can literally just draw contextless snapshots from that story that raise more questions than they answer and people will fill in the blanks.

I tried to a very long time to brush off his idiosyncrasies as "young and dumb," but he tends to wear out peoples' patience by crashing out with... shit like this. (He's made and deleted so many Telegram accounts it's hard to even figure out how to keep up with him anymore.)
