Thank you for those who supported in conjunction with the local community we have almost reached our goal. 🙏

12 years working at a Charity: never asked people for money.

Today: my friend Carl, cabinet maker, musician, bike mechanic, and heart of his community has been diagnosed with a brain tumor.

Carl has spent years lifting up others through community bike shops and radical kindness. #Bikesky

Hoggett and Randall outline an activist's journey as follows:

Epiphany – realizing the gravity of the issue.

Immersion – deeply engaging with activism and the cause.

Crisis – facing burnout, feeling overwhelmed or disillusioned.

Resolution – achieving balance and sustainable engagement.

Without nature, we are nothing. Nature is our life-support system, and yet humanity seems hellbent on destruction. With our bottomless appetite for unchecked and unequal economic growth, humanity has become a weapon of mass extinction. - António Guterres

The psychological wellbeing of humans and the ecological health of the planet are dependent on an intimate human-nature relationship.

The more disconnected we become from nature, the more our psychological health suffers and the more planetary destruction ensues.

(Roszak, Gomes and Kanner, 1995)

It gets worse.

Billionaires emit twice as much carbon as average investors and they’re twice as likely to bankroll polluting industries.

Wealth isn’t just being hoarded: it’s being weaponized against the planet.

Since 2020, the richest 1% hoarded 2/3 of all new wealth — that’s $26 trillion. The other 99% of humanity shared the remaining $11 trillion. @oxfaminternational.bsky.social

This level of inequality isn’t just unfair: it’s destabilizing economies, corrupting politics, and eroding democracy.

How can we work with nature to protect people? By working with nature versus against it, we can protect people from disasters like flooding and extreme heat. 🌱🌿🌳

Climate change is a driver of disaster risk and can lead to conflict, instability and insecurity. 🔥⛈️🌪️

@ifrc.org and @wwfcanada.org estimate that by 2030, 150 million people a year could need humanitarian assistance due to floods, drought and storms. #ClimateChange

“Implementing nature-based solutions could reduce the number of people in need of international humanitarian assistance due to climate change and weather-related disasters.”

To be a humanitarian now is to be environmentalist.

In fact it’s to be a climate chaos activist.

It’s not an optional extra.

One sadly relevant slide for every day life that I made sure to capture during the course.

Just completed the Personal Safety and Security course from the International Rescue Committee @rescue.org

This training is built for humanitarians in high-risk environments, covering everything from armed checkpoints and shelling to travel safety to sexual violence response.

Batiment 7 in #Montreal where I volunteer is a real world version of #solarpunk 🌱

A self governing community space focused on community needs. It’s an example of how we can do things equitably, build resilience all while focusing on circular economies. 🐓🌾🪏

Happy to have helped organize Saturday’s Red Line Protest for #Gaza in Montreal with a small, committed team. It doesn’t take many to make an impact, just people who care. Grateful to be part of it.

A small team of organizers and a small team of volunteers to help Montreal come out to speak out.

What it looks like to help lead 10000+ people march in solidarity for the people of #Gaza through the streets of #Montreal

#Climatechange is one of the biggest threats and risk multipliers for vulnerable populations around the world. @msf.ca see the consequences that rapid environmental change can have on extremely vulnerable.
