Day 7: I Love You for #WoLGrahaWeek2025 (and today, #grahatiaday!)

I did it, I finished Take Me Lost, Make Me Found! Enjoy not one but TWO final chapters for G'raha and his Warrior 💕

“Why me?” G’raha whispers, though perhaps he begins to see the shape of the answer.

Arkin smiles, his hand grazing G’raha’s shoulder, trying once again to heal the hurt there. This time, G’raha focuses on relaxing.

“I could ask you the same thing. I saw you, you know. In an Echo. You spoke of giving up your life for mine. And not only your life, but your precious time spent living. Why me? I wondered. Because I’m the Warrior of Light and Darkness? A tool worth saving at any cost?”

G’raha is already shaking his head, but he stills when Arkin thumbs over the shard of crystal in his cheek, wiping the tears there.

“Will you tell me?” his Warrior asks, so close their breath mingles. G’raha’s heart hammers in his chest, and he can feel its mirror all the way in Arkin’s fingertips. They find one another’s gaze, dizzy and almost overwhelming in their shared intensity.

It was a truth G’raha had hardly let himself consider, even within the confines of his Tower, his hood and robe shed in the solitude of the small hours. He pauses, unsure of how to give voice to it.

“It was the memory of you at first,” he begins slowly, “of our short time together. Those memories warmed me when little else could. And then, as the years passed… it was the myth of you. From what few scraps I had gathered before I arrived on the First.” The words come faster now, tumbling out of him. “Accounts spoke of your strength, aye, but even more of your boundless kindness, and I pinned my hopes on meeting that man once more before my end. But from the moment you let me into your room that night… the way you opened your heart for me, I—” The admission bubbles up, spills over. “‘Twas because I fell in love with you, over and over and over.”

it feels harsh to say out loud, but ur own self-loathing is far more likely to make other people loathe being around you than anything you feel is "bad" or "cringe" or "embarrassing". learn to love yourself unabashedly. not only will people react more strongly, but you yourself will feel better.
