This interests me even more than her tiny experiments. I was Dx’ed with ADHD at ~43. I have always been widely curious: botany, evolution, Linnaean systematics, literary and cultural studies, volcanoes, knitting, running, martial arts, woodcarving…et al.

In case you’ve ever wondered why the “parking chair” is a thing in Pittsburgh. (I think they do this elsewhere, too, but I never saw it until I moved here.)

Our neighbor across the street, a certified (by me) super genius, used a leaf blower to clear off his car.

Snow in Pittsburgh this morning. It’s falling like fine dust right now. I’ll post pics throughout the day.

I’ve been getting a ton of spam texts disguised as subscriptions - 5-digit number, they want me to send “stop” to quit, bogus BS in the message body. Why isn’t my spam texts disguised filter catching this shit??

It’s cold in Pittsburgh! Just got in the car and the seat feels like the icy hand of death grabbing my ass.

The phrase, “consent of the governed” keeps popping into my head, as if by magic. Why would I consent to be governed by people who claim they have the right to terrorize communities and to kill me or anyone else, summarily, for trumped up, post-facto “reasons”? Fuck that noise.

Books of the 80s
Post a book you love from the 80s. No explanations, no reviews, just covers.

This is a lovely piece. It puts into words something I have felt for a long time: the flip side of my instinct to back away from people who’ve never had anything difficult happen to them, who’ve never learned humility and the depth of their own vulnerability - i.e. their true source of strength.

I’ve reached that point in my “leave phone in a different room at night, for sleeping” (also for texter’s thumb pain relief) regimen where I am very verrrrrry tempted to read Bluesky in bed. Must. Not. Read. Bluesky. In. Bed.

bell hooks is on my mind a lot lately:

“I often use the phrase ‘imperialist white-supremacist capitalist patriarchy’ to describe the interlocking political systems that are the foundation of our nation’s politics.”

Ran the #phillyhalfmarathon with my niece today! We finished faster than we expected! Such a fun event - great course and spectator support for almost the entire route.

Driving across Pennsylvania with my betrothed. It’s foggy. The naked sycamores glow in the gray.

LOL - I was blocked by someone today whose profile photo is blurred out (because I'm blocked) - but it's totally easy to tell that it's a photo of a topless feminine body.

OK, bye!

Do we really have to say that sexual predation is wrong, at root? It doesn’t become OK when the targeted person is a teen or adult. The degree of lasting damage and trauma varies according to age and many other factors, like post-trauma support, etc. BUT IT’S ALL BAD. Nobody comes through unscathed.

Am I the only one who wondered whether or not there's a way to recall a US Senator or Representative? Context: I live in PA, and John Fetterman is our nominally-dem Senator. Well, I looked it up and the answer is no. The constitution does not allow voters to recall Senators or Representatives.

Here I am after finishing my 20 km run this morning. 😊 Yes, my hair is dripping sweat and my hat (which I knit - pattern is Shedir - like…god, almost 20 years ago now. 😬😂) Philly half-marathon, here I come!
