The whole point of having money and power, I thought, was that you could afford to be magnanimous and generous, and overlook the slights of lesser people. That you could be father and benefactor and lord to the lower orders.

The reason Trump and his minions are so upset about the "illegal orders" video has nothing to do with the military code. It has to do with the authoritarian code. Your job is to obey. Not to decide to obey, not to weigh when to obey, just...to obey.
