I am sounding the alarm that the GOP is engaged in an all out attack voting rights and free and fair elections. Voter suppression, gerrymandering, and troops in blue cities are just some of the ways they are using to try to rig the rules to keep power in 2026 and beyond.

Pay attention and act!
In my in-person circles as well, and on forums! I mean how you don't so much see the term floating around on newer forms of social media, leading the younger fans to not realize that was a term.
What a weird thing to say. Your grasp of history and biology are both deeply flawed.

The only Christopher Columbus I choose to celebrate today
So in the instance of the Monster Maroons example, Trekkies really did use to call it that, though it's fallen out of regular use. You may know this, I'm just connecting this back to the example. People saying "nobody ever called it that" fall into this category.
I've seen people try to explain what a writer was intending when they wrote xyz when the writer's thoughts are available to read directly on Memory Alpha, and people sharing incorrect reasons for actors leaving shows and going unchallenged. That sort of thing.
You're not wrong, some do that, but I'm not so much referring to nostalgia/romanticizing the past and am moreso referring to folks who share casting stories a Redditor made up as gospel and having things like that spread as accepted fact, and other things like that.
You don't have to judge Columbus by the standards of today. His tenure as governor of Hispaniola was so horrific that he was dragged back to Spain in chains to answer for his many crimes.

Plus he never set foot on any land that would ever be a part of the United States of America.
Modern fandom is startling revisionist, it sometimes feels like. I've had younger fans try to authoritatively explain things to me while confidently saying things that were flat-out untrue about Trek production history. The internet is an increasingly-weird place.
What an odd thing to say six months after the fact. Are you well?

I hope Democrats understand that if and when they get back to power, defaulting to “unity” politics and empty reconciliation without any real accountability would not only be morally abhorrent, but also politically suicidal: The desire for at least some semblance of justice will be overwhelming.
I have this on vinyl, but currently no working record player, and thus my pain is tangible.
Wow, just took a look at Twitter for the first time in a couple of years, and there's some GNARLY stuff going on over there. It really is a completely different world.
I cancelled my Disney+ subscription today, and so should you.
Shame on @abcnetwork.bsky.social and #Disney, who stand for absolutely NOTHING. #FuckABC #FuckDisney #FuckTrump #FuckFascism

Apologies are great, but if #AndrewDowd still has to lose his job after an apology, so too should this guy.

Also, #MSNBC should reinstate Dowd and apologize to him publicly. Dowd said nothing wrong, and anything short of what he said would've been dishonesty.

In a perfect world, we’d all just say: I feel so sorry for his small children.

These very powerful people force me to say things like: if you want to draw up a sheet of paper, because you may be too stupid to do this yourself, side by side with me of the domestic body count of political violence…
before we even know the identity of Charlie Kirk's shooter, Joni Ernst blames "the left" for "silencing voices through violence"

Charlie Kirk, who headed an org essential to Trump’s political support network, stepped out of the party line and demanded the release of the Epstein files and now he’s dead. I’m not saying one led to the other but it doesn’t look good.
