i feel like in gaming spaces people vastly overestimate the gains in linux adoption

if people think one bad windows version in a row is going to kill it they need to realize every windows number version has a like 1 in 3 to be terrible, sometimes several in a row

it makes me feel like this game will be a mixed 8/10

retro had to grow as a company because they lost a lot of developers in the 2010s, and a lot of the original metroid prime staff isn't there anymore

im not doubting their talent but saying a well-oiled machine they certainly are not

in closer sets I think it simply makes the game less enjoyable

in matches that aren't close skill wise this stuff doesn't really matter that much because you just diff them

but otherwise it can kind of make the game feel like you "lost on preview" more than previous metas imo

not unwinnable but

i feel like a lot of takes about specials usually come w/ a connotation of "specials ruin skill!" esp. back in the s2 days so to be clear: im not saying this special metagame is less skilled

-having flexibility *is* skill and a showcase of broader mastery, and understanding the meta

third kits dont help w this bc you now have weps that have 3 good kits and in close sets it can literally come down to a mental game of "will they bring booyah stamper which fucks up bubble or will they go crab which bubble is good into or will they go zipcaster which is bad for our eliter" etc etc
