4. Be humane. Begin by trusting students. Assume good intent. I have found that extending good will and empathy to students encourages them to return the same.
Transparency, flexibility, humanity and coffee. That’s it.

you’ve got that artfully crafted syllabus. But sometimes, the last-minutes adjustments you make to meet your students where they are? Golden.
3. Bring a big coffee and take a sip after you ask a question. It will remind you to *wait* for those answers to come. Silences feel longer than they are.
