The AI-written pitches that sound like starred reviews have slowed down for me, for the moment. I guess that's good but I do miss that split-second interlude where I think, "Wow, someone really likes my work!" before I remember it's AI.

I don't know about that specific question, but in the late 80s, a principal was fired from the HS where my dad taught for general incompetence (maybe also sexual harassment) and he was almost immediately hired at CHS because his agreement with the other school system said they'd give him a good rec.

Having a book made into a TV show (and then another one!) was never on the bucket list. But since it has happened, I may as well enjoy it. The show is adorable! So much fun wordplay just like my books and just like the original animated show.

Absolutely. But sales go up in the fall, and librarians put it on display in the fall . . . Have you seen Hannah Barnaby's THE PUMPKIN SEED'S SECRET? Not really Halloween, but definitely fall--and there is a jack o'lantern at the end.
