It’s a strange time for the news, but nonetheless… This Fall, I start a tenure track faculty position in my school/dept., after surviving a competitive search as an internal candidate in a teaching-track position. #academicsky #psychlaw

How I’m feeling this evening, having finally ushered the first meaningful policy change (on comp exams) through a full faculty vote, after two years of debate.

Just read that Zimbardo died 2 weeks ago. Psychology lost another giant. In 2019, I had the remarkable experience of meeting the man at APA. This will forever be one of my favorite professional memories.

Thanks to many starter pack creators, I have cool new followers. So… time for an intro: I’m a #psychlaw researcher + forensic counselor, working in a criminal justice department. Interested in decisional processes within the legal system, especially in sexual crime cases. Lovely to “meet” y’all!

Now that I have all these brilliant new followers on here, I could really use your suggestions: for an experiment I’m planning, I need a phone app that would allow me to securely assign participants into chat pairs, and I could get a transcript of each dyad’s chat. Any ideas?

I wish I could express, in proper haiku fashion, just how lovely it was to see folks, old friends and new, at #APLS2024 … but I’m afraid my travel-weary brain can’t hack it. Maybe after a good night’s sleep. #PsychLaw

Just got an R&R (minor revision), which is a great way to start the year… But also, left me a little disappointed. Some reviewers see their role as proof-readers, others as harshest critics. Of three reviewers, only one gave thoughtful feedback I can integrate in the paper. #AcademicSky

I was “cool” in the way all fringe, grunge-loving kids were cool, in the context of a middle-eastern performing arts high school... That is, cool but not at all popular.
I can’t imagine any Bsky early adopter was cool in high school, so what kind of loser were you?

You know how academics are infamous about working on their conference presentations the day they’re supposed to present? I guess I’m excited about this one, cause it’s done a week early. Federal Court CST decisions in Sovereign Citizen cases are wild, folks. #AcademicSky
