Folk better stop laughing this off. Reform-run No10 means ripped-up workers’ rights, climate denial baked into policy, migrants and minorities used as target practice, and the NHS carved up for profit. Farage is a millionaire dressed up as “one of the lads,” He and his mates will not suffer you will

The study of the galaxies reveals a universal order and beauty. It also shows us chaotic violence on a scale hitherto undreamed of. That we live in a universe which permits life is remarkable. That we live in one which destroys galaxies and stars and worlds is also remarkable.

Modern capitalism has more in common with Feudalism and the oldstyle slave-system than most people realize.

From: davidgraeber.org/articles/tur...
"In the case of slave mode of production,
the exploiters directly own the primary
producers; in feudalism, both have complex
relations to the land, but the lords use direct
jural-political means to extract a surplus; in
capitalism, the exploiters own the means of
production and the primary producers are
thus reduced to selling their labor power.
The state, in each case, is essentially an
apparatus of coercion that backs up these
property rights by force."

So in summary, we need to move the debate onto ending the UK and replacing it with new arrangements. What are those exactly? What does post-empire GB look like?

I've argued for some time that independence is a black hole onto which we can superimpose our hopes or fears. It is a blank canvas. Talking about what replaces the UK is tangible and realisable. So it can be campaigned for specifically and in detail.

I think it is vital that we have a GB-wide conversation on this. Our historic nationhoods are reasserting themselves in this post imperial era. What is our vision for Great Britain as our home? Multicultural British pluralism, a family of nations with a union that reflects that reality.

Glyndwr Cenydd Jones, now a Labour member if I'm not mistaken, developed this idea further here: www.iwa.wales/wp-content/m...

As a starting point for debate it's very good even if it would not be my endpoint personally. Adam Price former leader of Plaid also had a similar policy recently.

@zackpolanski.bsky.social we need to open up this debate. You might have heard of @plaidcymru.bsky.social's Gwynfor Evans who took on Thatcher in a fight to secure S4C for Wales? He proposed a "Brittanic Union" to replace the UK.

If Greens support #Annibyniaeth, then please work closely with @plaidcymru.bsky.social - What constitutional shape should GB take? What replaces the UK? This should be a GB-wide conversation.

Was a kid in the 80's but sounds similar from what I've heard. Upshot is that Labour conceeded to Thatcherism in the end. Blair infamously embracing neoliberalism.
