I made this to respond to some friends/family on Facebook but figured I may as well share it here too, because I think it's an important message I think people should hear.

I'll link to the landscape version in a reply below. www.youtube.com/watch?v=8n9j...

@thewaroncars.bsky.social @nerd4cities.bsky.social I was thinking about the discussion of the final question last night about the demographics of the urbanism movement, and I really think the whiteness of the movement has to do with Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs.
Argh *were (autocorrect 🤦🏻)
@nerd4cities.bsky.social Understandable that you had to duck out right after the event tonight. Good reason. Hopefully you can make it back to Seattle soon. I have a little something I made for you!

just want to reiterate that the first amendment isn't something you "hide behind," it's something that constrains the government's ability to limit your inalienable rights. that distinction is very important

I love that Zohran did not praise Cuomo in his speech. You absolutely do not have to say nice things about bad people. We should normalize that in “polite” politics: Praising bad people is not actually “civility.”

Traditional American politics is premised on the notion that sometimes you lose and sometimes you win and you have to deal with that.

But Trumpism is premised on the notion that any result where you don’t win is illegitimate, unlawful, fraud, criminal.

You can’t negotiate with people like that.
