To be honest it's mainly about records. MDANT🏅 unlikely though that seems

My latest monthly playlist is now available. Old records, new records, and new to me records, that span decades, genres and continents. All of them have made the last few weeks a lot easier to deal with. I hope somewhere on the playlist is something that'll make you go wow! and play it again.

Perfect Tom Stoppard story from DTel obituary:

His response to a letter from Harold Pinter canvassing support for a proposal to have the Comedy Theatre in London rechristened the Pinter Theatre, “Have you thought, instead, of changing your name to Harold Comedy?”

50 years ago I was a 5 year old boy living in Barnet, developing an obsession with aircraft of all types. We lived in an area often overflown by planes landing at or taking off from Elstree aerodrome, the closest general aviation airfield which was a few miles away to the north west.-

Everyone on this train is a massive pain in the arse. From constantly rustling bags woman, to "I know I'm in the wrong seat but I want to sit with my friends so that's your problem", man.

I think I've found my new favourite record shop. Concerto in Amsterdam is a rabbit warren of brilliant music. It's been here since 1955 and seems to have gradually expanded down the street, the absorbed shops give it an appealing higgledy piggledy feel.

One thing I love about Northern European cities is the madly futuristic optimism of the post war architecture.

We went to the Anne Frank house earlier this afternoon. What an incredibly moving place it is. On the way out we passed an American couple talking as they exited. As we walked by the husband exclaimed "No disrespect, but that was fucking boring", a phrase that is now burned into me.

Farage can now be easily boxed in to a corner where his only ‘defence’ becomes: “Yes I spouted Kremlin propaganda & Putin worship but, unlike Nathan Gill, I didn’t need bribes to do it.”
It is, once again, a question of whether interviewers have the temerity to shut down his whining obfuscations.
