It was by any standards a fantastic goal. He just glides past our vaunted midfield. The applause was spontaneous and genuine. I just don't think we were used to that level of quality after eight years of second division wrestling with Blackburn, Oldham and Boro. #lufc
Many years ago I worked a couple of summers in a jam factory owned by some huge conglomerate (Cadburys Shweppes Typhoo?) and they used to sell various seconds from around the company in the factory shop including kitkat broken biscuits for like 10p for a big sack of them. #winning
Just back from visiting MiL. She's 92, so fair play. Talking about her own mother living to 97, she came over all Alan Bennett meets Victoria Wood: "She would've lived longer, but she wouldn't eat her meals on wheels."
Struggling to keep up with all the weekend's news, but as it stands, I think we've got Ange going back to Celtic, Zach Polanski taking over at Forest and Alan Carr as the new Duke of York. Yes?
I've had my tea now, so in a mellower mood and watching #totp79 I can admit to owning Off The Wall, a genuinely great album by another artist I generally don't have a lot of time for. Quincy Jones at the desk #genius
I think I knew it was him (he's in the video, isn't he?). But DS are one of those bands that I've never really liked anything by. Just always sounded really dreary to me. There are others...
3 for 0 for me. I have much more faith that this is a more equitable system than the previous one. But if I'm something like 15 for 0 by the end of the season I might revise that opinion! I wonder if they could work it so that no-one gets more than one before everyone has had at least one? #lufc
Dave from the Winchester showing up around the channels tonight - as an irritated neighbour of Frank Spencer on That's TV earlier, and now as part of the magnificent cast of Zulu on Legend Extra.
I just watched Annie Hall again, to see how good it was. Whatever we're supposed to think of WA these days, it's an outstanding film and Diane Keaton is fantastic.
Me and Mrs L went to Mansfield "on a whim" 18 months ago, but that probably required some Friday night planning.
A month ago we found ourselves at a loose end in Northumberland at 2.00 on a Saturday afternoon, spotted that Berwick were at home, so drove up there, £10 cash to get in. Brilliant.
