Fentanyl. Drug Overdoses, including Fentanyl, are not even in the top 20 causes of death in the USA. Cancer, Diabetes, Covid, Heart Disease all in the top 10, and all have had their research funding cut. They aren't murdering just Venezuelans. However they are killing us much slower.

Jonathan Gullis defects to Reform saying his former party has "lost touch with the people it was meant to serve".

He should know. When he was in Government he took a five-figure donation from JCB, then stayed silent when it axed hundreds of his constituents' jobs just two weeks later
Conservatives Promote JCB's 'Revolutionary' Pothole Machine While Taking Millions of Pounds in Donations from the Company
Senior Conservatives have repeatedly promoted a pothole repair machine made by a company which has donated huge sums to the party and its MPs

I can see that Gullis thinks he will find it more comfortable among the back-stabbing shambles that is Reform.

But I don't think he will enjoy being demoted to a mute supporter of the Fuhrage.

If he draws attention to himself rather than the Leader, he'll be stabbed in the front.

Who is Nici?
Two more Conservative MP rejects hop over to Reform UK. Jonathan Gullis and Lia Nici.

More and more, Reform UK looks simply as if the Tories ran off stage, then came back on two minutes lates, wearing a comedy moustache-and-glasses disguise. ~AA

I find it interesting that every single TV political journalist opened with an editorialising comment, while all the newspaper ones just asked questions. I suspect, because the latter know the question won't be in the write-up, while the former are trying to craft a clip that is all about them. ~AA

Why is the UK Government supporting foreign attacks on the BBC, rather than defending us from attacks by Russia?

Rightly lots of debates about growth this weekend - rightly because it was low productivity growth that saw wages entirely flatline during the 2010s.

If thugs in your country stormed through your neighbourhood, indiscriminately attacking men, women and children, forcing you out of your homes and dispossessing you, would you describe them as "settlers"?

As many have been saying for a while, sure seems like the “who could AI replace” question has the opposite answer to what the bosses expect
The numbers in here are hilarious.

Do you use AI on the job?
Execs: 87%
Managers: 57%
Workers: 27%

Planned investment by 2030: $5T
"Necessary" annual revenue to justify that spend: $650B
Current annual revenue: $50B
Three years into the generative-AI wave, demand for the technology seems surprisingly flimsy

Soon small businesses won’t have to wait for Small Business Saturday to get attention from their Mayor.

Some changes that they can look forward to:
