Places to sit on Nicollet Mall: 1. Peavey Plaza, lots of concrete 'benches", a few metal chairs, and the blue Adirondack chairs. One of my fave spots in the city.

Now this is a festival that should be brought back.

I miss northern spark probably the most

Ohhh, it was so much fun! I remember the shape note singers doing a demo in a church basement; and singing with them, through a freaking rain storm. Like, we were that loud that we didn't hear the thunder and it was magical!

More hallucinatory journeys that cross both Minneapolis and Saint Paul, please! (This actually sounds like the plot to some urban fantasies I've read, lol)
tombasgen.bsky.social
Holidazzle should be incorporated into the Winter Carnival. Let it be a sort of Wonka Tunnel-esque affair. A hallucinatory journey, Alice’s fall into a Winter Wonderland where the Winter Court and the Vulcans wage seasonal war.
natepentz.bsky.social
This is a bummer. Holidazzle was quite a lot of fun before the parade was pulled and the current iteration the last few years. Still miss the 8th floor at Dayton's. Sigh. www.startribune.com/downtown-min...

Ok, I watched the first episode of The Chair Company; and honestly, the way Ron goes down the rabbit hole is the the way I do. But my rabbit holes are just on wikipedia, lol.

How long will the discord I'm in wait to kick me out as I just hit the Garage Sale channel with a whole bunch of stuff in the next couple weeks?

Go ride bikes with @wedge.live; prove to the haters that Minneapolis is just a city like all the other cities: pretty safe, kinda boring, full of people who just wanna ride bikes with each other!

🚨TONIGHT: Emergency bike ride departs Mueller Park at 7:30. This is not to be confused with the emergency naked bike ride. You can keep your clothes on.

jesus :(. i'm sorry.
amityf.bsky.social
really glad you're part of my community, friend. and i've been listening to Natalie Merchant a lot lately; especially because her stuff is so sing-alongable too!

They're showing us who they care about.
Vote for @katiecashman.bsky.social, who has been working to improve things for ALL of her constituents.

all of mpls are apparently targeting ward 7 homeowners only with a negative mailer on katie cashman. can’t find any renters who got it yet, just homeowners in the lakes area

everyone knows elizabeth shaffer is running to serve the well off and comfortable of ward 7 only

I mean, I've purchased a $40 handmade winter hat at that corner, and $50 earrings for Christmas gifts there. The Meet Minneapolis Visitor Center; where all the 3 pm stabbings happen.
amityf.bsky.social
I know! If you're gonna pick a street corner to be racist-afraid of, that's not it. (And I'm disappointed in myself that this is what I'm choosing to focus on here.)
amityf.bsky.social
'"How do I decide to go on the corner of Fifth and Nicollet and risk someone being stabbed walking to their car at 3 o'clock in the afternoon?" he said.' 5th and Nicollet is the Meet Minneapolis Visitor Center. He can't even hallucinate a good stereotyped location, lol.

I'd love to see actual secure bike parking at the downtown library. I don't bike there because of that. Same at Midtown Global Market.

it's just a t-shirt, but honestly, I need the reminder. the back says "it will take all of us", and maybe that's what I need the reminder of.

i actually really love this, katie.

Aurin: The fact of the matter there is no playing dead in this moment. Governor has said Trump could be sending national guard into Minneapolis. Feds are racially profiling people. They don't even look at status. "I am exactly the leader you need to elect in this moment."

2 kinds of people: those who smile when they see it written on the sidewalk and those who don't.
the word SMILE! written in pink chalk on a sidewalk.

Next time someone notes that I look younger than I am, I'm gonna tell them that every time a driver almost hits me when I'm out on my bike, it takes years off my life. ALSO what is up with drivers doing that handwave/sheepish smile, mouthing "Sorry!" like that makes up for almost hitting a PERSON.

At my best, I do think about them as Nature's Traffic Slowing Devices, but not at _my_ bus stop, lol.

ok which mayoral candidate is gonna deal with the NE Turkey Gangs, and how they keep invading my neighborhood?

Man, this fucking sucks. Another Stolen Bike Alert, Minneapolis:
imnotahrhitter.bsky.social
Well I know it's a longshot of course, but if anyone in the Twin Cities, especially bicyclists, see a silver Cannondale with Mechagodzilla stickers anywhere, please let me know, as they were stolen last night out of my garage.

Maybe I'll finally get some e-bikes now...once I secure things more lol

Stolen Bike Alert, Minneapolis: keep a watch out for it!

Can y’all please be on the lookout for my bike? Last seen in Elliot Park. It is a black Biria bike with red pedals and stickers of local news orgs on the bottom tube. It also has a Brooks saddle and adapters for Wolf Tooth pogies on the handlebars.

We won!

Following three weeks of legal proceedings and over five hours in court, the judge found Wayzata-based Minneapolis landlord John Wall in violation of the law on three counts, resulting in a $1,450 fine.
